The Tree.

I once saw a tree,
A lonely tree,
All by itself in a crowded forest.

Its branches were bare
And its colour was faded.
Imposing fir trees surrounded it,
Towering above with a sense of
Importance.

But still, the tree stood upright.
For it knew, and it knew well,
That soon enough spring would come,
And it would have leaves to keep it company.
Its blossom would be bright,
And the fir trees would be put to shame.

I hope to be like that tree.
I will stand strong,
Throughout my troubles,
As I know one day the light will come.
